GGHS Orchestras

Beginning in the 2023-2024 school year, we will be offering three orchestras: a Beginning Strings class open to all, an intermediate String Orchestra class open to students with at least one year of experience, and an advanced Chamber Orchestra by audition only. All three ensembles typically perform in a Winter Concert in December and a Symphonic Pops Concert in April/May. In addition, String Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra also participate in Fall Fest in October, district Honor Orchestra in February, one or two SCSBOA judged festivals in March, and Graduation at the end of the year in May/June. We have had guest clinicians come and work with the string members. We have also sent string quartets/quintets to play at community and school events.

SUMMER STRINGS CAMP 2023

  • July 17th to 19th, 9 am to 3 pm

  • Open to all string players grades 7-12 in GGUSD!

  • Required for anyone interested in joining the GGHS Chamber Orchestra

  • Cost to register is $50, due on the first day of camp. No summer sports form required.

  • Receive personalized instruction from professional coaches.

  • Make lots of new friends before the school year even begins!
